YouTube Channel Banner Downloader
Paste a channel link and download its banner
What the YouTube Channel Banner Downloader does
Paste the link of a YouTube channel, click Download, and the tool gets the channel's banner image so you can save it. It is useful for seeing how other channels design their header, for keeping a banner as a reference, or for looking at a banner at full size without taking a screenshot.

How to use it
- Open the channel's page on YouTube and copy its address from the browser bar.
- Paste the link into the box above.
- Click Download. Sample loads an example so you can see how the tool works, and Reset clears the box.
- Save the image to your device.
The tool works on one channel link at a time. If a channel has no banner, there is nothing to download.
What is a YouTube channel banner?
The banner, also called channel art or the channel header, is the wide image across the top of a channel's page. It is the first thing a visitor sees, so it usually carries the channel name, a short line about what the channel offers, and the brand colors. It is not the same as the profile picture, the small round image next to the channel name. If you need that one, use our YouTube Channel Logo Downloader.
Why download a channel banner
- To study how successful channels in your niche present themselves before you design your own.
- To keep a reference when you brief a designer.
- To check how a banner looks at full size, which a screenshot rarely shows well.
Look, don't copy. Reusing someone else's artwork on your channel can be a copyright problem, and a banner that looks like another channel's confuses your viewers.
YouTube banner size and safe area
Google's documentation says a banner must have a 16:9 aspect ratio and be at least 2048 x 1152 pixels, and it recommends 2560 x 1440. Most design guides add a 6 MB file limit. Phones and tablets show only the middle of the image, so keep the channel name and logo inside a safe area of roughly 1546 x 423 pixels in the center. Guides don't agree on the exact safe-area numbers, so when you upload, trust the preview YouTube shows and adjust the crop until nothing important is cut off.
How to find and change your own banner
Open your channel page and look at the wide image at the top. To change it, sign in to YouTube Studio, choose Customization from the left menu, open the Profile tab and replace the banner image there. YouTube's help page walks through the steps.
Tips for a banner that works
- Keep the name, logo and tagline inside the safe area.
- Start from a large, sharp image. A small file is rejected or looks blurry on a big screen.
- Match the banner to your profile picture and thumbnails so the channel looks like one brand.
- Update it when something changes, like a new upload schedule, a new series or a rebrand.
FAQ
How do I download a YouTube channel banner?
Paste the channel link into the box above and click Download, then save the image to your device.
Is it legal to download a YouTube channel banner?
Saving a banner for personal reference is generally fine, but the artwork still belongs to the channel owner. Ask for permission before you reuse it, especially for commercial use. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I use a downloaded banner on my own channel?
No. Use it as inspiration and make your own.
What size is a YouTube banner?
2560 x 1440 pixels is the recommended size, and 2048 x 1152 pixels is the minimum, both at a 16:9 ratio.
Why is the downloaded banner low quality?
The image can only be as sharp as the one the channel owner uploaded.
Can I use a GIF as a YouTube banner?
Stick to JPEG or PNG. YouTube's banner upload accepts those formats, and banners are not animated.
Why does the tool find no banner?
The channel may not have one, or the link may not be the page of a public channel.
Is the tool free?
Yes, it is free.
